Experience is the currency of Bleach HD and is used for literally everything- buying abilities, buying weapons and ranking up
all require you to pay in Experience. Experience is earned through posting at a rate of 10 EXP per post, though there are numerous other ways to earn EXP; such as through the earning specific system which send you out on wordcount based romps through the world to fulfill a certain objective. For Shinigami these are mainly soul and hollow-purifying bouts, while Quincy would be more towards Hollow extermination, Hollows to eating anything and everything they can get their hands on, and Humans to do whatever it is Humans do that they find suitably interesting.
Experience is awarded at the end of each 'mission' done by the staff approving or denying its completion in the
[specified forum]. When buying a custom ability or an item, however, the Experience will be deducted in those areas. Nearly everything on the site costs Experience to obtain and once it is spent Experience cannot be returned outside of the Reincarnation system, explained in greater detail in the
[Death Guidelines]. Certain things cannot be bought until you reach a certain rank for your race, such as the releases and most other custom techniques. Experience is, simply, the epitome system of Bleach HD and most of your character's power growth will be attributed to your gain and spending of it.
The mission system works, in greater detail, as such: go nuts. Your mission is tailored to /you/. Did you find a post on a help wanted board at the Shinigami Academy telling you to kill a certain Hollow terrorizing a part of the Rukongai? Neat! Do it. These are all race specific, of course; a Hollow wouldn't be ordered by a higher power to do anything, and their 'missions' would mainly be -go and eat this thing-. Anything that provides productive in-character power advancement or growth can be counted as a Mission as long as it isn't a purely social thread. Missions, in general, follow a word count base and you get EXP depending on how many words you post. These are a few limits however; the 'difficulty' of Missions is tailored to your rank and your minimum word count goes up with each rank. Higher ranks CAN take lower rank Missions for the reduced minimum word count and lower risk, though this gives them the lower EXP reward as well. A Rank can NOT take a higher ranking mission than their own, though. Each Rank of mission has a base EXP reward with a +10 EXP per 100 word formula in place.
In example, say you're taking a Rank 1 Mission- that's 150 words that you need to write out and you get paid 50 Experience for it. Now, let's say you write out 250 words instead- you now got paid 60 Experience! Each 100 words above your minimum increase your EXP gain by +10.
The exact details go like this:
- Rank 1 Missions: 150 word minimum. For Shinigami, these would be scouting missions. Hollow's would maybe eat a few weaker Hollows, Humans might go get a job at a grocery store or diner, Quincy would kill some opposition or perform military routines. All in all non-threatening with no actual chance of death or despair. | Reward: 50 EXP base.
- Rank 2 Missions: 300 word minimum. You're fighting some stronger opponents here, maybe struggling a little in the economy, entering the realm of personal plot development. You're very unlikely to die but you might get injured; it's up to your imagination. These are still pretty entry level but hey, you can show off that cool new ability of yours. | Reward: 75 EXP base.
- Rank 3 Missions: 500 word minimum. Things get real. You've probably been told specifically to take out a key mark or calm down an area- or maybe you even sensed the overpowering presence in the distance. Maybe your employer's turned sour against you or you have some opposition. Maybe it's getting involved in your life and your loved ones are getting hurt. Someone could die; or you could go full out and smash through the trouble before that happens. | Reward: 100 EXP base.
- Rank 4 Missions: 750 word minimum. You're going in deep. Maybe you've had a long seated rivalry with a certain person that's starting to get out of control and it's time you ended it for real. You could die, here, if you're not careful. These are the things heroes and villians go on; it's become your job to protect your home turf, wherever that may be or even if that just means yourself. Fight to the end and carve your name in the world. | Reward: 150 EXP base.
- Rank 5 Missions: 900 word minimum. Did anyone else feel that Adjuchas in London? Is it a friend, maybe, that you've come to eat and absorb? Or an enemy so deep rooted in evil that you need to strike it down? Maybe you've decided to spar with another race or higher rank of your own for once and stuff's starting to go down. Only an idiot wouldn't taken quests like this seriously. How many guns do you need held to your head before you realize you're in the big leagues now? | Reward: 200 EXP base.
- Rank 6 Missions: 1,000 word minimum. Did you really just decide to go vaulting into the enemy's base and not expect this kind of resistance? Hell, maybe you're a Fullbringer who decide to finally stick it to the Quincy or Shinigami that you're worthy of respect too and that went south. These missions are the stuff of folk lore and fairy tales; you're making a name for yourself now and it's up to you whether it's good or bad. Lower ranks look up to you, or are at least terrified of your very existence. Good job- hopefully, if you live. | Reward: 250 EXP base.
There is, however, a limit to how many lower ranking Missions you can do as a higher Rank- to dissuade you from grinding out the minimum instead of actually having to deal with the difficulties your Rank entails. The limit is as such;
Rank 1 players have no limits to the number of Rank 1 Missions they can do.
Rank 2 players can only do a total of
(3) Rank 1 Missions a day.
Rank 3 players can only do a total of
(2) Rank 1 Missions and
(3) Rank 2 Missions a day.
Rank 4 players can only do a total of
(2) Rank 1 Missions,
(2) Rank 2 Missions and
(3) Rank 3 Missions a day.
Rank 5 players can only do a total of
(1) Rank 1 Mission,
(2) Rank 2 Missions,
(2) Rank 3 Missions and
(3) Rank 4 Missions a day.
Rank 6 players can only do a total of
(1) Rank 1 Mission,
(1) Rank 2 Mission,
(1) Rank 3 Mission and
(2) Rank 4 Missions a day. There is no limit to the number of Rank 5 Missions.
You do not need to state anywhere that you are taking on a mission! You simply post it in the applicable area and mark it in the topic title as a (Mission); after it's complete, you post a link to it in the Mission Payout section and wait for a moderator to come and approve it. Make sure to specify which Rank of mission you're doing!!
Happy hunting!
